Is the produce in Frozen Garden Green Smoothies and Fusions organic?

That's a great question! All of our Smoothies and Fusions are Non-GMO Project Verified and we follow the Environmental Working Group’s Dirty Dozen™ when it comes to organic. Any item that is on the Dirty Dozen™ list of highest pesticides levels, we source either commercial certified organic or it's grown by one of our small local farmers without the use of synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. This includes items such as spinach, kale, apples, grapes, cucumbers, pears and more. Items that are not on the Dirty Dozen™ list, such as bananas and avocados, we source those conventionally.

How do you create Frozen Garden Green Smoothies?

First of all, you won’t find any powders or supplements here! We nutritionally design each one of our green smoothies to give you a daily dose of fruits and veggies. Each gluten free green smoothie pack starts with a base of dark leafy greens (think kale and spinach!), followed by healthy omega-3 fats, nutrient-dense superfoods and rounded out with a unique combination of flavors. Then, we layer in fresh fruits and vegetables, mostly from local farmers, that are picked at peak season. We blast freeze those fruits and veggies to retain maximum flavor and nutrients. You also won’t find any added sugar or artificial sweeteners in our smoothies. Instead, we use naturally sweet whole foods such as fruits, dates and spices.

Do I need an expensive blender to blend Frozen Garden Green Smoothies?

Heck no! We handcraft our green smoothies to blend in any blender. We even test our vegan smoothies using a variety of blenders including a $19 Osterizer from our local Kmart. Note that blending time will vary based on the quality of your blender. Our favorite blender? NutriBullet creates a line of blenders that are affordable and do an amazing job at blending our smoothies!

How much does each Smoothie pouch make?

Each smoothie pouch makes a 20-ounce smoothie. We recommend blending our smoothies with 1½ cups of liquid to make a 20-ounce smoothie.

Depending on personal preference, you can increase or decrease the amount of liquid. Using more liquid than recommended will create a thinner, milder tasting smoothie. Using less liquid will create a thicker, more robust tasting smoothie.

How long will Frozen Garden Green Smoothies last in my freezer?

Frozen Garden Green Smoothies will last indefinitely when properly stored in your freezer. But for maximum quality, we suggest you blend and consume smoothies before the “Best By” date on the back of the package (typically 9+ months from date of purchase). It’s important to keep smoothies frozen until ready to blend. It is NOT recommended to thaw any of our Green Smoothies prior to blending.

Are Frozen Garden Green smoothie and Fusion pouches recyclable?

Our Green Smoothie and Fusion pouches are BPA-free and can be recycled in most residential recycling programs. They are plastic #7 so be sure to check your local recycling program to see what numbers they take.

Please recycle your Green Smoothie and Fusion pouches to reduce the amount of plastic going into our landfills! When recycled, these pouches are broken down into recyclable regrind, or tiny pellets that serve as the main raw ingredient used to produce other forms of flexible packaging or items like plastic tables, park benches and even dog toys!

What do you do with the food scraps and waste?

At Frozen Garden, nothing goes to waste! We believe in being good stewards of the environment. That’s why we donate 100 percent of our scraps/waste to Great Inspirations Farm for composting which reduces landfill waste and incineration, and therefore emissions.

Did you know? Organic waste that ends up in landfills decompose without oxygen and produce methane, a greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming. Not only does donating scraps reduce landfill waste, compost also returns valuable nutrients to the soil to help maintain soil quality and fertility. Great Inspirations Farm uses this compost to feed the soil that grows the kale and spinach that we use in our green smoothies—and that’s what we call full circle.

Frozen Garden Lemon-Pineapple-Ginger Fusion

What's a Fusion?

fyo͞oZHən: The act of making boring water flavorful by infusing it with 100% fruit and herbs.

How do you create Frozen Garden Fusions?

Our newest product line, Fusion, came from the desire to make flavored water easy and convenient without all the plastic and/or aluminum can waste when buying flavored water at the store. The existing water enhancers on the market are typically made of artificial flavors and sweeteners. Why couldn't we make a water flavor from real food? So, that's just what we did! Each fusion is made up of 100% whole fruits and herbs. We puree the fruits and herbs, gently pasteurize it, and then freeze them into perfect individual portions to drop into your water. There are absolutely no additives or sweeteners in our Fusions...just real flavor from real food.

All orders ship via FedEx Ground. The Shipping Schedule may change during weeks that contain a FedEx holiday.

Absolutely! We are committed to using environmentally conscious and sustainable shipping methods. That’s why we use insulated liners that are made from plants (corn starch) and minerals (dirt and rocks). You may remove and recycle the plastic wrapping and then dispose of the liner material in your garbage bin. The inner liner material will break down and compost over time. The cardboard box is 100 percent curbside recyclable.

How do you keep the Smoothies and Fusions frozen during shipping?

Our Green Smoothies and Fusions are packaged with enough dry ice to keep them cold for the duration of transit. However, due to unknown conditions during shipment it is best to bring the package inside and transfer the products to your freezer as soon as you receive the shipment, so they don’t thaw out.

How do I dispose of the dry ice in my shipment?

Dry ice is the solid form of carbon dioxide. Dry ice is made from reclaimed CO2 and dissipates back into CO2 over time making it "carbon-neutral." To safely dispose of the dry ice, use a towel, oven mitts or gloves to remove the dry ice from the box and place the dry ice package outside in a trash container. Keep away from pets and children. Do not open and touch the dry ice with your bare hands as it may cause burns similar to frostbite from the extreme cold. The dry ice will dissipate back into CO2 in a few hours.
